I can recall doing the asymmetric tail thing to one or two sleds in both the 1-Skewer and 2-Skewer sizes. Of course, if a looped tail is being used, you have to find some other way to make the correction. You simply add more tail to one side! There's our original 2-Skewer Sled in the photo. This can be convenient when you need just a very small correction for the kite's turning tendency. Others include barn doors, sodes and doperos. Some kite designs lend themselves naturally to twin tails. A common example is the two-stick sled kite. Never forget the tape when you go out to fly a new kite! The majority of kites I have made have been fine, but just occasionally, a fix is required. Just what you want! I have stuck a short length of tail material to a 1-Skewer Delta wingtip (see the small photo), a 1-Skewer Diamond tip, and even a side longeron of the 1-Skewer Box kite to get them flying straight and true. (Regarding that pinnable image-it's much bigger when pinned.)Īdding a small tail-let to one side of a kite is increasingly effective the stronger the wind gets. All it might take is the removal of little wood from the right parts of a spar, making it a fraction more flexible.Īnyway, the sections below provide a bit more detail on how to make kites fly straight. On the other hand, larger kites can make a similar transformation from poor flyers to great flyers. I'll say that again in English :-) -a bit more tail, or a tiny strip of plastic fluttering from a wingtip can completely cure a small kite that used to misbehave all the time. It's very convenient and often beautifully effective to fix an errant small kite aerodynamically. For example, you might need to shift a bridle knot by a few mm or 1/4 inch.Ī minute change can make all the difference on a small kite.Īnother observation regarding size is this: Not only this, but when you make an actual change, it makes more difference on a small kite than on a large one. Big kites are less bother than little kites, have you noticed! The small designs just need more attention while they are in the air, largely because they tend to have smaller wind ranges.

Synchronizes activated applications, participants can change global settings.Logic Pro is readier than ever to do all the heavy lifting for you, so you can get on with other things, like linking up to Ableton Live.Īpple Logic Pro: Ableton Link synchronizationĪbleton Link compatibility allows you to sync DAWs with others (Image credit: Apple) For example you can freeze tracks, which makes a temporary render of them, and switch off access to their meters, saving you space. They continue Apple’s dedication to clever power-saving strategies while maxing out your music-making resources. It’s on the left click menu in the main tracks menubar, and once selected, you can simply hover over any track and drag the appearing levels bar up or down for instant effect.Īll these new streamlining features will help you to organize your workspace, work smarter and save processing power. If you’re new to multi-track recording, or simply want to change volume in the tracks filed, the new Gain Tool will suit you. You can choose whether to do that on any particular region and for any particular plug-ins you have applied. This means you can record the output of generated MIDI effects as an integral part of the track rather than being added during playback. This update also gives you the ability to record Pedal Board’s 35 stomp boxes as individual plug-ins. Stomp boxes available as individual plug-ins, and a new track gain tool.Stacks are easy to work with and can be reorganized by dragging track headers around, or by dragging a track header out, if you want to remove it. This new level of hierarchy to your DAW’s organization allows you to further subdivide group edit tasks. This latest version of Logic Pro adds nested stacks as well, of either type, essentially stacks within stacks. Behind the scenes Summing Stacks route the output of stacked tracks to an audio subgroup which is then routed to a bus, saving you doing all that, and also freeing up your workspace. Summing stacks on the other hand, retain the ability to change settings on the individual tracks within the stack, as well as changing them all at once where you can edit, add effects etc., saving heaps of time. Folder stacks offer basic organizational functionality: they can solo and alter levels, but have no metering. Apple has listened, and has added that functionality, making stacking even more useful. Nested tracks, increased organization and flexibility all improvedįor a long time, users have been asking for more functionality.Vocal tracks 6-20 are now hidden and still editable inside the ‘summing track’ (Image credit: Apple) All in all, this ‘light’ update certainly has a bit of weight to it. Go to the applications folder and find Logic Pro. Your high-quality recordings are at stake, so it’s worth backing up before you update. You get nearly 6,000 instruments and effect patches, together with 1,200 sampled instruments and a whopping 14,750 Apple Loops - music samples that can be played while inside the Live Loops Grid that Logic Pro shares with GarageBand for IOS. In Ubuntu, vsftpd should be started and set to start on subsequent boots automatically after the installation. # systemctl start vsftpd & systemctl enable vsftpd In CentOS and openSUSE, you will be required to start and enable the vsftpd service: By default, Vsftpd is available in the Debian 11. Before installing any software, it is important to make sure your system is up to date by running the following apt commands in terminal: sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade sudo apt install gnupg2. To edit it, simple open it with whichever editor you want. Install FTP server on Debian 11 Bullseye. The configuration file required for this, nf, is located in the /etc/proftpd/ directory. Debian FTP server tutorial: the most important configuration steps After the installation, you can start to configure ProFTPD. To create a user on the ftp container, use the following environment variables. On the other hand, ftp is the client program that will be used to access the server. The name of the package stands for Very Secure FTP Daemon. The vsftpd package is an implementation of a FTP server. Now enter the IP address, Username, Password, and then click on the Quickconnect button: The connection will be successfully established. Setting up a FTP Server in Linux So thanks guys (wanderer, advocatux, kce, ramnet) for the help and thanks to the people behind Debian for bringing this "universal OS" open to anybody. (sftp client works very good on this little toaster BTW) better than a Solaris BOX (partial authentication on ssh and not properly closing). Right now it (vsftpd) is working flawlessly on regular ftp sockets, I will try and experiment on how to implement "SFTP" server. Tip: Alternatively, you can also add the username to the file with one command: Save the changes and close nano with ctrl + c > y > enter. Each username is added on a new line, for example: transip admin username. I have a felling I can get things done quickly the right way. Open the user list file with: nano /etc/erlist. Now we will install the FTP daemon that we have chosen. Before any installation, the main thing is to update the system. So adding a share is basically editing a config.file in a notepad and pasting on the actual config. Configuring an FTP Server on Debian 10 1.- Upgrade the system. Copy and pasting the config works with nano or jed. Just an FYI - I am enjoying the command line more than the web based (httpd) "click" "click" configuration where you have to wait a lot of times for the response. I never thought that here, (Debian Community) people are very helpful. Flash Player was officially discontinued on 31 December 2020, and its download page was removed two days later. This led to the eventual deprecation of the platform by Adobe. Its usage also waned because of modern web standards that allow some of Flash's use cases to be fulfilled without third-party plugins. Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was highly critical of Flash Player, having published an open letter detailing Apple's reasoning for not supporting Flash on its iOS device family. However, Flash Player became increasingly criticized for its performance, consumption of battery on mobile devices, the number of security vulnerabilities that had been discovered in the software, and its closed platform nature. Adobe stated in 2013 that more than 400 million out of over 1 billion connected desktops updated to new versions of Flash Player within six weeks of release. įlash Player once had a large user base, and was a common format for web games, animations, and graphical user interface (GUI) elements embedded in web pages. Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge Legacy, in Windows 8 and later, along with Google Chrome on all versions of Windows, came bundled with a sandboxed Adobe Flash plug-in. Flash Player supports vector graphics, 3D graphics, embedded audio, video and raster graphics, and a scripting language called ActionScript, which is based on ECMAScript (similar to JavaScript) and supports object-oriented code. It is currently developed and distributed by Zhongcheng for users in China, and by Harman International for enterprise users outside of China, in collaboration with Adobe.įlash Player runs SWF files that can be created by Adobe Flash Professional, Adobe Flash Builder, or by third-party tools such as FlashDevelop. Problem: what if it turns out you're in a stud and this anchor won't work, but now you've already drilled a giant hole. Orient the device so that when deployed, the metal piece which will be behind the lath will be vertical. Warning: this calls for quite a large hole, but the holding strength is great. It has been a while since I bought any, but I think there are different sizes and materials to choose from. But here is a video showing how it works differently whether it ends up in solid material, like a stud, or if there is a hollow area it can expand into.įor large weights, the best is the SNAPTOGGLE. It seems like the identical product to Fischer DuoPower I'm guessing Hillman bought it from Fischer. Sure, for small weights and small screws, like mounting a smoke detector, you can probably just get away with the regular technique using the same anchors you'd use if it were drywall - except, I'd use a masonry bit until you get through the plaster.įor medium weights, what I've used to hang various size pictures on lath and plaster walls is Hillman DuoPower. Some expanding anchors are expecting a specific thickness of drywall past which point they will then expand: these types won't expand as expected in lath and plaster. And if your drill hits right between 2 laths, it's however thick the plaster is there. But if you drill in the upper part of a lath, it's plaster plus lath plus another layer of plaster "fingers". If your drill hits the lower part of a lath, the thickness is plaster plus lath. When the first layer of wet plaster is troweled onto the lath, a variable amount of plaster squeezes through the spaces between the strips of lath wood, curl downward with gravity and eventually harden into "fingers" gripping the lath below. It may vary from place to place around the house or even in different areas of the same wall. The second difference is thickness you're not really sure how thick the plaster plus lath is going to be. When you hit wood, you won't know you've hit a stud until you've drilled farther than the thickness of a stud. Oh, and put a bit of blue tape first so your masonry bit is less likely to "walk". The first difference is: use a masonry bit when drilling lath and plaster, then when you strike wood (whether it's a lath or a stud), switch to a regular twist drill bit suitable for wood. The large threaded plastic anchors that work so well in drywall won't work in lath and plaster. The plaster in lath and plaster is more like limestone. Using anchors in lath and plaster is very different from anchors in drywall.ĭrywall is a much softer plaster containing more gypsum or calcium sulfate with a layer of paper on each side. For example, if I search for a specific video I want to download from YouTube, Downie’s search function doesn’t list it in the search results. This feature works similarly to if you were to provide Downie with the URL. Download Videos with Search Featureĭownie also lets you find and download videos with a search feature built into the app. Setting up the download was easy – all I did was find a video on YouTube and drag the link to the Downie app. For reference, I get 1200 Mbps from my ISP, and downloading a 4-minute, 4k video from YouTube took under 30 seconds. My personal take: Downie does what it claims to do exceptionally well. Download times vary depending on your Internet speed, video length, and video quality.
